To assist with the refurbishment of a local play area situated adjacent to a Primary School, some 200 children were each asked to model their own clay tile with self portrait. A further 120 children from a nearby High School were also invited to participate in the project and made their own tiles. Once the play area had been totally rebuilt, the fired tiles were cemented into position with the help of the children. The refurbished area now features a circular arena space for“imaginative performance play” with an audience of familiar faces looking on.
