| description |
Commissioned by Scottish Forest Enterprise as part of a series of integrated environmental improvements designed to enhance and improve tourist facilities within the ever popular Queen Elizabeth Forest Park these dramatic entrance features act as distinctive and welcoming landmarks for the many visitors who come to the Trossachs every year. Various standing stone information markers incorporating carved symbols were also installed throughout the area. Based on the topography found in a nearby quarry the artwork seeks to symbolise the geological structure of the Highland Boundary Fault Line which cuts through the area. The Hill Top Viewpoint is reminiscent of a stone age habitation enclosure and features tables and seating with relief carvings based on the local flora and fauna that can be found within the forest together with a location map. |
