		Philosophy
		DESIGN PHILOSOPHY My work is conceived from an holistic point of view, created in response to people &places, is eclectic in character and seeks to be sympathetic in scale & context. I endeavor to create artworks that are inspiring and enlightening for all concerned by promoting collaborative partnerships wherever possible. COMMISSIONING I work mostly to commission within a prearranged budget by either preparing proposals in response to a design brief for a selection committee or by working directly with a client. RESEARCH During the conceptual stage of a project I use symbolism and metaphor to make creative connections that link meaningful visual and sculptural ideas with local cultural, topographical and / or historical references.

PRESENTATION

In order to stimulate discussion & dialogue, I prepare sketches, technical drawings, photomontages, models & computer animations that explore various options & ideas.Proposals are always backed up with appropriate documentation that cover such topics as Technical Specifications, Installation Procedures, Maintenance, Health and Safety and Budget.

IMPLEMENTATION

I prefer to adopt a 'hands on' approach during allstages of a project from conception through to installation by either creating the artwork personally or by collaborating with specialist sub contractors.

STUDIOS

I operate from studios in Scotland and Florida & have access to Industrial premises in both Countries enabling me to undertake large scale commissions.
