| 'Shell' marks the entrance point to the public beach on the popular Manasota Key and is constructed using the 'Fibonacci' sequence of ratios that are found throughout the natural world.
Some 520 stainless steel components were precision cut using a CNC water jet and assembled together to create a see through skeletal structure that reveals the geometry of the Shell's internal chambers.
The finished sculpture is designed to sit on an 'island' of natural rocks in the middle of a roundabout circle. |
